Eastport, Maine

If you take Route 1 far enough east, you'll eventually run into Route 190. That road, heading southeasterly, will bring you onto a peninsula called Eastport. Eastport proudly carries the name "The Easternmost City in the U.S.A" and they are right - check out a map. And you can get theyah from heyah.

Once the exclusive home of the Passamaquoddies, eventually the area was taken over by fishermen and then farmers planted crops, soon to be followed by Sardine factories. Today the town is still inhabited by all walks of life and is a major hotspot in town for tourists. There are lots of quaint little shops and I fell in love with the landscape.

The sign says it all

Geese take flight

One of the many tugs that help the many boats entering Port.

Nothing says Eastport like the town statue.
