Wintering over when you're a Southern Bird

Well, it's been a few weeks now since I first saw Carroll the Carolina Wren (yes, he has been named and provided a gender) and now he's taken up residence in our neighborhood, enjoying the plentiful seeds, suet and berries I've been putting out. He's also making himself right at home..... I'm actually very curious to see if he will find a mate and stick around this spring?

I'll have to make sure I have my treeline nest box all set.

"Excuse me, sir? Could you please not point that thing in my direction when I'm eating?"

"Nope. Not it. Blech. Patooie. Nope. Where is all the good stuff?"

"Great, and now it's snowing again. What was I thinking? Can I come in?"
