The Canon 50D

*New! Canon 50D Digital SLR. 15.1 megapixel and capable of capturing 4752 x 3168 pixel images. Also sports ISO ranges of 100-3200 and can take 6.3 shots per second (that's crazy). Self cleaning sensor seals the deal for this kid. Yes, I'm a geek.

This baby is my new pride and joy and is sporting the 28-135 IS Ultrasonic lens.

The Canon 10D

The majorly outdated Canon 10D. This camera has easily captured hundreds of thousands of images, no joke, and will now be my backup camera. She's sporting the Canon EF 80 - 300 mm 1:4 - 5.6  II which doesn't get the best of reviews but I've owned it forever (at least 20 years, I bought it with my 35 mm Canon Rebel when I was in my early 20's) and it takes darn good photographs and captures birdies in flight very nicely.

The Cheap-o 2x Teleconverter

Wanting to get closer and closer to my subjects and knowing that a massive new lens was out of the budget, I opted for a 2x Teleconverter. So far so good, it's working for me! Will have to see if it stands the test of time, but at least I have something to use until I win the lottery.
It seats directly onto the camera, then my lens onto it. It basically turns my 300mm lens into a 600mm lens. The downfall is that I have to manually focus most of the time. I think I can get over that though!

The Canon Powershot A520

I bought this camera 5 years ago so I could carry something around with me 24/7. It's held up to it's promises over and over again and works great! It's pretty scratched up and beaten from shoving it my pocket or the Monkey using it.

  1. I am ready for a new camera... so is my Mom... and am seriously considering a Canon this time. Everyone that has one, loves it. I carry mine 24/7, so thinking something like a powershot - but they have so many to choose from now!!!
I consider the DSLR, but they are bulky... the pics you post are amazing!!! but I think that's the photographer, not just the camera, at work!

  2. Ahh, thanks Linda - the camera definitely helps me out a ton!

My next point n' shoot will be one of the Canon A series. The 3100 provides a rechargeable battery and Image Stablization (so if you're a wiggly camera holder, you still get great images!). Right now (June 2010) it's running around $160.00 and I'm sure there are decent sales if you keep an eye out!

    Canon RULES! ♥

  3. Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaice set up! You'll love the 50D (my bra size!). I should get a teleconverter. Then, my 400mm will be able to capture those naked men on Mars and the Mooon. Ya, okay.
